BBB Regional Director to Speak at NSBA Luncheon on Sept. 11

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Sept. 7, 2025 — The North Springfield Betterment Association (NSBA) will host Pamela Hernandez, Regional Director of Better Business Bureau® (BBB) Springfield, as the guest speaker at its monthly luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 11. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Fountain Plaza Room at Cox North, 1423 N Jefferson Ave.

In her presentation, “How BBB Serves Our Community,” Hernandez will share insights on how BBB builds trust in the local marketplace through business profiles, ratings, consumer education, and scam prevention. Attendees will learn about free resources like BBB’s Scam Tracker, how to file complaints, and how BBB partners with schools and senior groups to promote smart consumer practices.

“As scammers get more sophisticated, it’s vital for consumers and businesses to stay informed,” said Hernandez. “BBB is here to help people make confident decisions and avoid fraud. We want the public to know they can access our tools anytime at BBB.org.”

Hernandez brings nearly 30 years of experience in financial services and wellness to her role, using media platforms like KY3 and NPR affiliate KRPS to raise awareness about scam prevention and ethical business practices.

The luncheon is open to the public. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., with lunch served at 11:45 and the program starting promptly at noon. Lunch is $20 for NSBA members and first-time guests. Those attending the program only (no lunch) may do so for $20.
