NSBA to Host Greene County Detective Joey Fletcher for Human Trafficking Awareness Program

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – November 13, 2025 – The North Springfield Betterment Association (NSBA) will welcome Detective Joey Fletcher of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office as the featured speaker for its monthly luncheon on Thursday, November 13. Fletcher will present “Human Trafficking 101,” offering community members a crucial look at how to identify and respond to human trafficking.

Fletcher, a 20-year veteran of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, currently serves as a Task Force Officer with Homeland Security Investigations and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force. With over a decade of experience investigating internet crimes against children, Fletcher brings frontline knowledge to one of the most urgent public safety issues today.

“Trafficking brings in $236 billion a year worldwide,” Fletcher said. “It’s second only to drug trafficking—and often goes unnoticed.”

His presentation will cover common myths, warning signs, and how to respond when trafficking is suspected. Fletcher will also highlight sobering local data, including the fact that only 128 victims of sex trafficking have self-reported to law enforcement in Missouri since 2019.

The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cox North in the Fountain Plaza Room (1423 N Jefferson Ave, Springfield, MO). Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., lunch is served at 11:45 a.m., and the program starts promptly at noon.

Lunch is $20 for NSBA members and first-time guests.
