About the event
Nicolette Zangara brings a unique combination of broadcast meteorology experience and emergency management expertise to her role as Public Information Officer for the Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management. Before joining OEM, she spent three years as an Emmy-nominated weather forecaster at KY3, where she became a familiar face to Ozarks viewers. Her passion for weather started young -- her Italian-immigrant grandfather, a pilot, taught her the basics of meteorology before she could even talk.
Now she's on the front lines of keeping Greene County safe, managing communications during severe weather events and helping residents prepare for whatever Mother Nature throws our way. After last year's devastating April 29 and June 29 storms that impacted nearly all of Greene County, Nicolette has firsthand insight into what our community needs to know heading into storm season.
