Letter from the NSBA President
Our Mission Statement
For the last 30 plus years, our purpose has been to
promote and encourage worthwhile and honorable endeavors,
which will make north Springfield a better place to
work and live.
To fulfill our mission, our primary focus has been
on improving educational opportunities for the children
in the 14 North Springfield elementary schools. To that
end, we started The Elementary School Attendance Program.
This program motivates elementary students to have 99-100%
attendance during the school year. To keep this momentum
going we provide quarterly awards for students and teachers
alike, with the finale being the large, all schools,
party in May for those who have achieved their goal.
We also have several other endeavors to acknowledge
the people living in North Springfield. We have the
Ann Reed Memorial Scholarship Fund and Wade Williams
Scholarship Endowment Fund. NSBA awards scholarships
to selected graduating seniors of both Central High
School and Hillcrest High School. We also show appreciation
to others helping to better our community through the
North Springfield Beautification Award. Every month,
the NSBA recognizes the efforts of an individual, family,
organization, or business in improving the appearance
of the northside.
Join us for lunch. NSBA has monthly luncheon meetings
on the second Thursday of each month, normally at Cox
Medical Center North, The Fountain Plaza Room, beginning
at 11:45 a.m. and adjourning at 1:00 p.m. The cost is
$7 and includes a delicious luncheon and a community-oriented
program. Our programs are designed to provide exposure
to local issues affecting the quality of life in North
Springfield.
Become a Corporate Sponsor of the Attendance Party
and let the community know what’s important to
your company and its employees. Sponsorship packages
are listed on the membership registration.
YOU ARE INVITED to become a part of our family of individuals
and businesses who make the North Springfield Betterment
Association a community leader in North Springfield.
Respectfully,
Debbie Bogner, President
North Springfield Betterment Association
